The Orion MCP server lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor work directly with your Orion projects, metrics, workflows, and knowledge base. It uses the open Model Context Protocol. Add Orion to ChatGPT or Claude from their directories, or point any MCP client at https://g.runorion.com/mcp. You sign in with your Orion credentials, and there is nothing to install.

What You Can Do

Ask your assistant in your own words. It chooses the Orion tools that fit, and Orion does the analysis.
  • Ask why a number moved: “Why did weekly signups drop in the Growth project?” Orion runs the analysis in that project and answers with its reasoning. A full analysis takes a minute or two.
  • Check a KPI: “How is net revenue retention trending this quarter?” Your assistant can list a project’s metrics, read their latest values, and see the changes and anomalies Orion detected.
  • Run a workflow and read its report: “Run the weekly pipeline review and bring me the report.” Orion starts the run, and your assistant reads the report once it is ready. Runs take minutes.
  • Read a dashboard, slide deck, or report: “Summarize the Q3 board deck.” Your assistant reads it as text, so it can quote, compare, or build on it.
  • Work with your knowledge base: “What does our wiki say about how we count an active customer?” Your assistant can search, read, create, and edit pages. Writes use your own Orion permissions, so only Admins, Analysts, and Group Analysts can make them.
  • Pick up an Orion chat: “Continue my churn analysis from yesterday.” Your assistant can list your Orion chats, read their history, start new ones, and continue them.
  • Find what to look at next: “What should I look into in the Marketing project this week?” Orion’s recommendations come back with suggested questions to ask.
In a project with Warp Drive on, a question that approved content cannot answer comes back declined. Your assistant can then offer to continue in Full Analysis, which takes longer, if the project’s access policy allows it.
